Developing an Education and R & D Eco-System through academic collaborations at University level. Creating scope of incubation through ‘STRC Assistance for S & T Application Scheme’ for faculties, students and institutions in the region. Academic Programs aimed at creating S & T based human capacity development as a bridge between knowledge activities in the university and enhanced livelihoods in the neighbourhood.
CURRENT FOCUS
‘STRC Assistance for S&T applications Scheme: for faculties, researchers and students, aimed at funding short-term R & D and incubation grants of relevance to STRC-GUG. Through the scheme, STRC seeks innovative applications, sharply focused incubation program and on-field interventions of local/ regional significance. Successful pilots get jump start for replication and upscaling.
Development of an Education and R & D Ecosystem:Diploma courses, short term certificate courses and associated training/capacity building programs customized to suit local needs, on STRC livelihood program interventions. STRC’s in-house and collaborative R & D efforts to include development of low-cost tools/technologies in farming operations, utility craft/ furniture made with Bamboo composite, advance Aquaculture etc.
Facilitating Extension/ Knowledge Exchange Programs by engaging with Academic & Non-Academic Resource Institutions for possible S&T studies, Research work on rural technology development, facilitation and extension and STRC to act as a Knowledge Support to agencies (Govt./ Non Govt.) in the region.
