Science & Technology Resource Centre Foundation Gadchiroli

Over the past decade, STRC has emerged as a beacon of community-centred scientific advancement. Initiatives like Mobile Demonstration Unit (MDU) for technology dissemination, bamboo-based product R & D and social entrepreneurship, quality fish-seed production at source through modern aquaculture initiatives, Vaidya Chikitsalay OPD for preservation and demonstration of indigenous medicinal knowledge and traditional healthcare practices, streamlining non-timber forest produce (NTFP) collectivization, promotion of research eco-system through research grants for science and technology (S & T) application, Environment Education Program for Schools, development communication for wider outreach and other significant initiatives have demonstrated the transformative potential of strategic science and technology interventions. These programs have strengthened local livelihoods, preserved traditional knowledge systems, and empowered community stakeholders, establishing STRC as a model for inclusive and sustainable regional development.

The project, ‘Science and Technology Resource Centre (STRC) at Gondwana University, Gadchiroli’, has been registered as a society, ‘Science and Technology Resource Centre Foundation Gadchiroli’, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XXI of 1860) and is positioned for a significant transition in its approach to delivering science and technology (S & T) based solutions to address the critical livelihood concerns of local communities. Since its inception, it has made significant strides in leveraging local resources, preserving traditional knowledge, and integrating modern technologies to address the socio-economic and ecological challenges of this underserved region.
