Development of Organized Fish Seed Production, Culture and Marketing through Portable Carp Hatchery to ensure Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities in Aquaculture in Gadchiroli District.
Fish Vending Units (FVUs) have been developed under the STRC, Gondwana University funded and co-implemented Aquaculture project, in collaboration with College of Fishery Science, MAFSU, Nagpur. The unit can extend the shelf-life of fish up to 4-5 days.
Integrated Fish Farming (IFF) is a unique system of fish farming combining other agricultural / livestock farming operation centered around a fish pond. STRC employs fish and poultry as a combination to support additional income generation for marginal fish farmers.
