Vaidya Chikitsalay

An unique university platform to promote traditional healers and their healing practices

Recognizing the importance of traditional healing systems and to provide a platform for local traditional healers to showcase their knowledge and skills. The project aims to elevate status of the traditional healers and create a space for them to share their knowledge with the wider community. The Vaidya Chikitsalay OPD, initiated in September 2022, has gained popularity in recent months. Due to regular functioning (weekly thrice), presence of experienced Traditional Healers (s) and active promotion of the facility, the in-flow of patients even from far-off areas has seen an incredible growth.

STRC Vaidya Chikitsalay now has a branch at Hedri catering to communities in the southern blocks. STRC and Lloyds Infinite Foundation (Lloyds Metals) sign Memorandum of Understanding.

Compendium of Articles

It has been a truly enriching past twelve months for Science & Technology Resource Centre (STRC), Gondwana University Gadchiroli. As we move on to a new year, I can sense, a few significant strides are being taken in the right direction towards realizing STRC as a self-sustainable entity. While on-going initiatives have taken traction, new avenues of collaborative action have emerged. We have just begun to make a mark as an institution with a clear mandate of science and technology based development in the region. I am optimistic about the future, however, I must admit, a lot more effort is required to be put in.
